Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
Belda (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs a service marketplace that connects homeowners and businesses in Egypt with verified service providers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and the Belda app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have over it.
By using this website, submitting a request through it, applying to join our provider network, or booking a service in the Belda app, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the service — you are always welcome to contact us by email instead.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information we need to answer your request, arrange your service, review your application, and run this website. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Information you give us
Depending on which part of the service you use, this may include:
- Your business name, business type, primary location, contact person, the services you need, and any notes you add, together with your mobile number and work email, when you request a business service quote.
- Your full name, mobile number, work email, company name, the services you offer, the governorates you cover, your commercial registration number, your company website, and any supporting documents you send us afterwards, when you apply to join the provider network.
- Your full name, mobile number, personal email, preferred career track, and the experience summary you choose to write, when you register your interest in a role at Belda.
- Your name, phone number, email, and service address, along with the details of the job you are booking, when you create an account and request a service in the Belda app.
- Any additional message, question, or note you choose to write to us in a form field or in support messages.
Please do not include sensitive information — such as card numbers, national ID numbers, or health details — in website form fields. If you need to share something sensitive, ask us for a secure channel first.
Information collected automatically
- Standard technical data recorded by our web server and hosting provider, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you visited, together with the date and time of the request.
- Your chosen site language, English or Arabic, stored in your browser so the site opens the way you left it next time.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your request, call you back, and prepare a quote for the service you asked for.
- Match your request with a suitable verified provider and pass on what that provider needs to carry out the job.
- Confirm, schedule, and track your booking, and keep you updated until the job is complete.
- Review provider applications, verify licensing and commercial registration, and manage our partner network.
- Assess career applications and contact you when a suitable opportunity becomes available.
- Provide customer support, handle complaints, and resolve disputes about a completed job.
- Send you updates about our services or offers — if, and only if, you asked to receive them.
- Keep the website and app secure and available, including limiting the rate of form submissions to prevent abuse and spam.
- Meet our legal, tax, and regulatory record-keeping obligations.
3. Bookings, Providers, and the Belda App
Belda is a marketplace: the work itself is carried out by independent, licensed service companies. When you book a service, we share with the assigned provider only what they need to reach you and do the job — typically your name, phone number, service address, and the details of the request. Providers may not use that information for their own marketing or pass it on to anyone else.
We keep a record of the bookings made through your account, their status, and any rating or feedback you leave, so that you have a service history and so that we can hold providers to the standards we promise.
If you are a service provider on Belda, the details of your company, coverage, and completed jobs are processed so we can route work to you, show customers who they are booking, and settle payments owed to you.
4. Our Legal Basis for Using Your Information
We process your personal data in line with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) and its implementing rules. Depending on the situation, we rely on your consent (for example, when you submit a form or opt in to service updates), on the necessity of performing the service you asked for (arranging and delivering a booking), on our legitimate interest in keeping the platform secure and our provider network trustworthy, and on our legal obligations.
6. Cookies and Browser Storage
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do store a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage, which stays on your device:
- Your language preference, English or Arabic.
- A short-lived record used to limit repeated form submissions from the same visitor.
You can clear this at any time through your browser settings. Clearing it will simply reset your language choice.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep service requests and quote enquiries for as long as we need them to serve you and to follow up. Booking, account, and billing records are kept for the life of your account and afterwards for as long as our legal, tax, and accounting obligations require. Provider applications and their supporting documents are kept for the duration of the partnership, and unsuccessful applications for a reasonable review period. Career applications are kept while we consider you for suitable roles. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Data stored in your browser stays until you clear it. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or render it anonymous.
8. How We Protect Your Information
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, account passwords are stored in hashed form and never in plain text, form submissions are validated and rate-limited to reduce abuse, and access to customer records is restricted to authorised Belda staff and to the provider assigned to a job. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we take these safeguards seriously we cannot guarantee absolute security for information sent to us online.
9. Your Rights
Under Egyptian data protection law you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you, and ask for a copy of it.
- Have inaccurate or incomplete data about you corrected or updated.
- Ask us to delete data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave, including unsubscribing from our updates at any time.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, a particular use of your data.
- Complain to the competent Egyptian data protection authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 13. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.
10. Children’s Privacy
Belda is intended for adults booking services for their home or business, and for the companies that provide those services. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to Other Websites and Services
Our site links to external services such as the app stores where the Belda app is published, our social media pages, and WhatsApp. Once you follow such a link, you are on a service we do not control, governed by its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those services.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature or change a provider. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it last changed shown at the top. Please review it occasionally.
